The Abington Park and Recreation Department is committed to enriching the quality of life through the promotion, development, and maintenance of public recreation and enrichment opportunities, park lands and related facilities. If at any time we do not meet our obligation of providing quality programs and facilities and you feel there is a problem with our service, the Park and Recreation Department will work with you to make it right with you.

This info will also automatically fill out your registration forms. When you’re ready to register, visit the program page, and follow the prompts. 
 
Our primary method of communication is via email. When opening an account be sure to check the cancellation & general announcement boxes so that you will receive all email notifications. Due to the number of participants in some programs, we have found this to be the quickest way to inform you of cancellations, location changes, schedule and/or time changes.


Abington Recreation Refund & Cancellation Policy

Abington Recreation understands that plans can change. However, many of our programs have limited enrollment, and late cancellations may prevent another participant from having the opportunity to register. Please review the following cancellation and refund policies carefully before registering.


Eager Beaver Day Program

  • All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing at least 10 days prior to the start of the registered session in order to be eligible for a refund.
  • Cancellations received 14 or more days prior to the start of the session will receive a full refund.
  • Cancellations received 10–13 days prior to the start of the session will receive a refund, less a $50 cancellation/processing fee.
  • Cancellations received fewer than 10 days prior to the start of the session are not eligible for a refund or account credit.
  • No refunds or credits will be issued once a session has begun.

All Other Recreation Programs

  • Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing at least 7 days prior to the start of the program in order to be eligible for a refund.
  • Cancellations received 14 or more days prior to the start of the program will receive a full refund.
  • Cancellations received 7–13 days prior to the start of the program will receive a refund, less a $35 cancellation/processing fee.
  • Cancellations received fewer than 7 days prior to the start of the program are not eligible for a refund or account credit.
  • No refunds or credits will be issued once a program has begun.

Non-Attendance

Registration reserves a participant's space in a program and may prevent another participant from registering. Refunds or credits will not be provided when a registered participant chooses not to attend, stops attending, or otherwise does not participate in a program for which they are registered. This includes missed days or classes due to personal scheduling conflicts, vacations, or other personal commitments.

Medical Emergencies & Extraordinary Circumstances

Abington Recreation recognizes that unforeseen circumstances may arise. Exceptions to this policy may be considered in cases of a documented medical emergency or other extraordinary circumstances. Any exception will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and is at the discretion of Abington Recreation. Documentation may be required. Submission of documentation does not guarantee that a refund or credit will be issued.

Weather-Related Cancellations

For recreation programs other than Eager Beaver, if a class or program is cancelled due to inclement weather, Abington Recreation will make every reasonable effort to offer a makeup date. Refunds or credits will not be issued for weather-related cancellations when a makeup opportunity is provided.
The Eager Beaver Day Program will generally be relocated to a designated school facility during inclement weather whenever possible. In the rare event that Eager Beaver must be cancelled due to a weather-related emergency or other conditions beyond the control of Abington Recreation, refunds or credits will not be provided.

Programs Cancelled by Abington Recreation

If Abington Recreation cancels an entire program or session due to low enrollment or another administrative reason, registrants will receive a full refund or account credit, as applicable.
